Villagers wants police to arrest murder suspects
VILLAGERS living in an area becoming infamous for beheadings and gruesome killings are praying that the police will quickly arrest those behind the gang-type slayings.
A father, his wife and eldest son were hacked to death by a group of men in Transgogol, Madang, last month, causing outrage over how the police were handling the case.
Former local level government president Morris Bann said last Friday during a meeting of villagers that police were yet to arrest those who beheaded a teacher in the area in 2014.
“Police never arrested the suspects involved in the beheading,” Bann said.
“Police have stopped going into places such as Bau (where the beheading took place) anymore.”
He fears that police will treat the killings of Kawas Kori, wife Melib and son Greg in a similar manner.
Madang provincial police commander Chief Inspector Ben Neneo said police were relying on the cooperation of the villagers to track down and bring to justice those involved.
“People are scared to give us information for fear of reprisals from the killers.
“They should cooperate with us (police) to stop such vicious attacks.”
The head of the teacher who was teaching at Bau Primary School was released by the gang a week later wrapped in a plastic bag.
Transgogol leader Esau Ware said most of the killings in the area emanated from land disputes.

Appeal to the local villagers to collaborate & work with the police to apprehended those cult members so that they can face the full blunt of law.
Their actions and rituals have been going out of hand. It’s really satanic worshipping.
