Violence against our beliefs: Ps

Faith

The recent acts of vandalism and violence in the country are against Christian beliefs, a pastor says.
Seventh-day Adventist church Ps Malachi Yani was responding to election-related violences which included the burning of churches.
“It is unacceptable and wrong,” he said.
“These acts of vandalism and arson are being seen across the country, including the burning of the Meraimanda Seventh-day Adventist church in Kompiam-Ambum, Enga, and it is very wrong.
“We understand the anger that is out there between the candidates but it is against what we believe in as Christians.”
Yani said these events had brought shame and did not reflect the country as a Christian nation.
He urged everyone to live as true Christians and to refrain from engaging in activities that are tarnish ing the good name of Papua New Guinea which is also known as a Christian nation of God.
