Violence in sport

Letters

VIOLENCE has shown its ugly head again – this time in French Polynesia, courtesy of the Papua New Guinea under-19 soccer team.
Three players were sent off in the game against French Polynesia in the Oceania tournament in the French territory’s capital of Papeete.
It’s shocking and shameful.
Sadly, PNG society is reaping the rewards of bringing up children in an environment that is violent and undisciplined.
That they got trashed 6-0 by French Polynesia is therefore not surprising.
