IT was with a good luck wish for Port Moresby Stop N Shop Vipers that Goodman Fielders (GFI) Ltd under its Flame Flour brand came on board as a season sponsor with K30, 000 yesterday.
Vipers are 1-1 heading into round three of the Digicel Cup on Sunday but remain positive they will be a force this season and were thankful to the flour manufacturer.
SNS Vipers chairman Sudhir Guru in receiving the funding from promotions coordinator Frederick Toua and category manager Donald Mangila thanked Goodman Fielders for the timely support that would help take the team far this year.
Toua said this was their first sponsorship of a team in the semi-professional league.
He said the company had always been supportive of community oriented projects and sports was one of their areas of focus.
CPL Group’s marketing manager Prue Go said they were pleased to have Goodman Fielders on board with them.
“There has always been a good business relationship between GFI and CPL and we are just so thankful with their sponsorship,” Go said.
Meanwhile, Toua said this year they have seen huge improvement with the game especially with Digicel on board to help fund the game.
“We can clearly see that this year will be a fantastic year for rugby league and we want to be part of that exciting family and therefore supporting as team like the Vipers is in keeping with our interests in developing the sport,” Toua said.
