Vipers name sides for trial

 FORMER glamour team Port Moresby Vipers have named two sides for the trial matches against the Gulf Isapea on March 5 in Port Moresby.

Both franchises will confirm a venue soon as the Murray Barracks oval will undergo a major facelift for a new mini stadium for the FIFA Under-20 women’s World Cup in November.

The Vipers operations manager Paul Komboi released the names of the 34 players currently training with the city franchise.

Vipers Black is coached by former Kumul Philip Boge and Vipers Yellow by current Kumul Charlie Wabo.

He said former Kumul Josiah Abavu has returned after one stint with the Hela Wigmen and former Gulf Isapea winger Pipi Kilori has rejoined the Vipers after a season in Cairns with the Fassi Fern Bombers.

Players of note are retruning former Kumuls Richard Kambo and Josiah Abavu as well as Penrith junior War Varage Jr.
