A WAR canoe from Wagawaga village in Milne Bay, and a framed photograph of dancers from the Trobriand Islands, were presented to Vision City in Port Moresby.
The items are currently on display at the mall.
The canoe is about 24 metres long and suspended from the ceiling.
Executive director for Rimbunan Hijau (PNG) Group, Nathaniel Ho said the canoe was “very unique”, and that it was nice to have a part of Papua New Guinea culture in the mall.
Vision City mall manager Christopher Barraclough said they would “like to embrace the culture as best as they could”..
This was the first time for the mall to receive a traditional/cultural item and Barraclough said “it would be nice to see more”.
“We are working to promote and help preserve the culture of Papua New Guinea. It’s nice to see original items, something that is 100% cultural,”he said.
Baraclough said Vision City became a part of Port Moresby where people came and shopped and hungout.
