Visiting eye team start operation operations

THE five-man Taiwan Mobile Medical Mission arrives in the country tomorrow for five days of eye operations and check-ups on patients at Angau Memorial Hospital in Lae.

The team, which consists of two ophthalmologists (eye doctors), an ophthalmologist technician, a nurse and an administration officer arrive in Port Moresby and travel to Lae where they will be based at Angau from next Monday to Friday.

This will be the fifth time for the team to visit PNG and the fourth time to visit Angau.

“Angau Memorial Hospital is our partner,” Taiwan Trade Mission representative Daniel Hu said.

“This year, we will carry out operations on those with eye problems, as well as check up on those with eye problems.

“We will have 300 glasses for those with eye problems so I invite members of the public to come along if they a need for such.”

After Lae, the team spends two days in Port Moresby, during which time it will visit the Port Moresby General Hospital and carry out other commitments.
