Vital to form national soccer team again

Letters, Normal

I REFER to the state of soccer in the country.
It is true the standard of our soccer has improved since NSL started and people like David Chung, John Kapi-Natto, sponsors, franchise owners and supporters must be commended.
I believe it is time we form a national soccer team as soon as possible.
We need to play as many international matches as possible to improve our FIFA and OFC rankings.
Currently, we are behind other smaller Pacific Island countries except maybe Samoa.
These matches will also help us prepare for the South Pacific Games.
We must have a soccer team in the games to improve our medal chances.
Finally, it would be great if the PNGFA and NSL board could arrange some form of scholarship (like AFLPNG) or attachment with overseas clubs where our boys (especially U-20 and U-23) can train or play with them.
This will help bring soccer in our country to another level.
