Vital to maintain highways and roads

THE Highlands Highway is the life line of the provinces which are connected by it.

It plays a vital role in

the delivery of services, especially materials to the oil fields and mines from which the national government derives most of its funds to develop the nation.

I commend Works Minister Francis Awesa for prioritising the highway unlike his predecessors who had little or no regard for it.

It is time all highways and main roads are maintained and upgraded.

Roads must come first before other basic infrastructure and facilities can be built.

Without roads, we cannot transport the needed materials.

All 111 MPs must give their support to the works minister to fast track improvement and expansion highways and roads.
