A VOLUNTEER health worker claims that people in Middle Jimi,  Jiwaka have never seen any tangible development in the past five years.
Philip Kilip, who worked as a volunteer for 34 years, said the elected MPs from Jimi had done nothing to bring any development into the electorate and people were still in darkness.
He said the road condition has affected the flow of services into the electorate, affecting the health and education services there.
“Some of the health and education services in the area have stopped. I don’t know who is responsible for all this.”
He said Jimi MP and Minister Assisting the Prime Minister on Constitutional Matters Wake Goi had promised to deliver health and education projects, including electricity and upgrading of the road, but nothing had happened.
Kilip said the health centres at Tapi, Kauil and Kol station were falling apart and most schools, including Jimi High School, do not operate for the full year because of the absence of teachers.
who could travel there through the poor road conditions.
“Lack of these services in one way or the other is affecting our children, mothers and the community and we don’t know who will take the responsibility to deliver these much needed services,” he said.
He said the people of Jimi had started to lose hope in their elected members because they had not seen any change in their lives since independence.
He had appealed to the Jiwaka Transitional Authority and Goi to deliver the much needed services to rescue the people of Jimi.
