AROB Chebu received three competition points after forfeiting Vudal Gazelle at the Sasi Muthuvel Stadium in Kimbe on Saturday.
Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League New Guinea Islands Conference coordinator Tonga Esira confirmed that Gazelle failed to turn up and could not be contacted since they left East New Britain on Friday.
“Many attempts were made since Friday but we haven’t heard from them,” Esira said.
“We’ve made contact with some of their members in East New Britain but not the travelling team and we hope they are okay.
“This is the second time for them not turning up for their game.
“The first time in round two they had problems with their boat motor.
“Because they failed to communicate and did not turn up, the match was declared as a forfeit as per NSL regulations because they did not get back to us.”
NSL assistant manager Micah Kaneng confirmed that the match was a forfeit but they were yet to get a full report on the situation.
Meanwhile, in the other NGI conference fixture, Radazz came from behind to force a 3-3 draw with Greengold in wet conditions.
The conference will head into it’s last round of games this weekend before the NGI clubs head into a recess.
Standings: West Tribe 7, AROB Chebu 6, Radazz 4, Greengold 2 and Gazelle 0
