MAJOR Kingsley Wadada has taken over as commanding officer of the PNG Defence Force Support Battalion from Lieutenant-Colonel Francis Kari.
A parade to mark this was held at Murray Barracks in Port Moresby.
“Promotions come from God. They don’t come through finding favour through your superiors,” Kari said.
He acknowledged divine guidance which helped him during his two-year tenure.
“It is not easy commanding troops as there are many challenges. But I would like to thank the PNGDF Commander Gilbert Toropo and fellow commanding officers for their support all throughout,” he said.
Wadada said he was privileged to be promoted and promised to do his best in his new role.
“I will provide leadership and guidance to the troops.”
The ceremony was witnessed by officers, their families and the public.
