Wagambie: Fifty-seven escapees still at large

 FIFTY-seven escapees who had escaped from the Buimo Prison during a mass breakout last Thursday are still at large, police say.

Lae metropolitan commander Anthony Wagambie Jnr said 14 were convicted prisoners jailed for serious offences while 43 were remandees still awaiting their court convictions. He said 94 inmates forced their way out of the prison’s main compound at 2pm on Thursday and attacked three warders before dashing for freedom.
