Wamiri not part of SDP, says party secretary

 POWES Parkop’s Social Democratic Party says so-called “treasurer” Albert Wamiri is not a member of the party.

Party general secretary David Kua said this in reply to a story in The National on Tuesday that said Wamiri welcomed moves by the party to team up with the ruling People’s National Congress of Prime Minister Peter O’Neill.

“Albert Wamiri is not an executive member of the party,” Kua said. 

“He was sometime ago but he has since resigned.

“It is only the national president or general secretary who can release press statements on behalf of the party.

“In this regard, what is in the paper is misleading.”

Kua said there was no need to team up with PNC when the Social Democratic Party was already in the coalition government.
