Wanga: Board by-passed process

Education

HUON Gulf administrator Moses Wanga has accused the Morobe education board (PEB) of by-passing “process” in endorsing three junior high schools in Wampar.
Wanga said Wampar council president Boaras Giuka and district education manager Sam Geseng should have presented the proposal to the Huon Gulf for endorsement before submitting it to the education board for scrutiny and approval.
“In (our) five-year development plan, we have Wampar high school to be built at Sefo-Siara, interior Rumu River, the Tsiletsile technical vocational centre at Lower Watut and Gabmazung Lutheran technical high school,” he said.
“Besides, we have built the Zifasing School of Academy.
“We’re still to complete facilities for specialist subjects and teachers’ accommodation.”
PEB executive officer Nathaniel Selem presented the Wampar junior high school document to coincide with the National Repentance Day at Gabmazung.
“I visited Salamaua on several occasions and it’s very saddening to witness students sleeping in the ablution block,” he said.
“The Salamaua high school has spoiled the education of many Wampar children who returned home.”
