WANTOK FC stamped their authority in the NCD Public Servants Soccer competition beating Simla 2-0 in the wash-out A-League match played at the PNGIPA Oval, Waigani, on Monday.

Comprised of Hekari United players from the National Soccer League led by Cliffton Aumae, Daniel Joe, Willie Gia and Roland Conn, the team stretched the Trobriand Islanders at every opportunity.

Midfielders Gia and Conn taking controlled the pace of the game  while opposites Brett Seriba and Willie Mathew tried their best for Simla.

Simla striker Lap Embel was thwarted every time he got within range by defenders Roger Kareva and Joe.

With a lion’s share of possession Wantoks imposed their will on Simla bombarding the goal-mouth  with every opening.

The defence finally yielded with Conn curving a shot to beat goalkeeper Simeon Dobin for the first point of the afternoon.

The halftime score stayed at 1-0.

Simla lifted in the second half but every foray into the Wantoks territory was handled almost nonchalantly by a well-drilled outfit.

Aumae set Calvin Bill for a brilliant goal to end Simla’s fight back.

Andrew Lepani, Brett Seriba, Junior Seriba, Mathew, Embel and  Samson Kanoyasi played strongly for Simla while Roland Conn and Joe stood out for the winners.

Results: Musa 4 Morata Roots 1, Simla 3 Buria 2, Tarangau 1 PNGIPA 0, Wantok 2 Murat 2, YFC Lions 2 Musa 1, City United 5 Morata Roots 1.
