For Dickson Waroko, Badili Warokos is not the only team that has tasted fortune under his care to win a gold pass in the Southern leg of Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup challenge in Port Moresby this year.

Luck seems to be on Warako’s side each time he chooses to put his money on a team in the Ipatas Cup, especially in the Southern  leg.

Last year Waroko sponsored this year’s Vanuatu Dust team who were then called Vanuatu Warokos.

The Vanuatu Warokos were then the golden pass winners from the Southern leg of CCIC competition and travelled to Lae for the major competition.

This year it was his new team, Badili Warokos who defeated his old team Vanuatu Dust at Murray Barracks Oval last Sunday in the final. He is now gearing up to take the Warokos to Lae together with Six-Mile Storm, who were the second gold pass winners.

After winning the first gold pass against his former team, Waroko commended his boys for making him happy with their win.

“This is the eighth team that I sponsored in rugby league,” Waroko said.

“I have seven teams that I have sponsored taking part in various rugby league competitions in the city.

“I only do this to give a second chance to the unemployed youths especially boys who are doing nothing in the streets of Port Moresby.

“I believe that through rugby league, these bunch of youths may have a better life in the future.”
