EAST New Britain’s music icon John Warbat will be leading a group of musicians from the province on a tour to Australia in September.

The tour coincides with PNG’s 37th independence anniversary at the invitation of Melbourne-based PNG citizens. It is part of their fundraising drive for charity in Papua New Guinea.

The Melbourne-based PNG citizens have already assisted institutions such as the Port Moresby General Hospital children’s ward.

ENB Governor Ereman ToBaining Jnr assisted Warbat and his group’s preparation for the tour with a donation of one chainsaw and two brush cutters which the group intended to use to raise funds for the tour.

Spokesman for the group Philip Tale said the group was looking forward to promoting PNG music and East New Britain culture.
