Ward gets temporary office

 TWELVE days after a fire destroyed her office in the ward 2 council area in Lae Urban LLG, councillor Carol Yawing and her staff are set to serve the community again.

Yawing and her two colleagues Bill Kinsim (ward 6) and Max Ango (ward 4) together with the ward two staff and the community witnessed the setting up of a temporary office by Lae Builders and Contractors at the old office site on Cassowary Road.

The only woman councillor in Lae Urban LLG, Yawing said: “LBC donated the donga with two rooms along with three chairs and a table and at least we have something to start up with.

“We have advised Lae district administrator Robin Callistus about the temporary office and tomorrow the building board will come and inspect it.”

“We will rise up from the ashes,” chairman Thompson Benguma said.
