I looked through your edition of Aug 14 and there he was in your sports pages, the old warhorse Russ Kaupa, of Lae rugby league fame.
The old fellow had contributed a lot to the game of rugby league over a very long time.
Do a bit of research and look into his life to see what he has done and you’ll find the facts are astonishingly overwhelming and immeasurable.
This silent achiever is an icon of the game and contributed much to its development in Papua New Guinea.
The least PNG National Rugby Football League can do is nominate Russ Kaupa for a knighthood for his lifelong services to the greatest game of all ¬– rugby league.
