Warning against robbing expats

Letters

ON the evening of Dec 8, two of our company vehicles were on their way from 9-Mile to the airport when the lead vehicle swerved to miss a dog and went into a ditch.
Opportunists took the driver’s new phone and a passenger’s wallet at knifepoint. My point is this, is it OK for Papua New Guineans to rob and threaten expats? Yet, if an expat robbed or threatened a PNG person, PNG people would cry compensation.
If an expat threatened to shoot a robber and did so, then the screaming would start for compensation from the PNG person and family,
As an expat married to a national I am telling any would-be thief to expect tough justice because we have had enough.
You do the crime then expect to do the time – either in hospital, jail, or funeral home.
