KONGO Coffee Simbu Warriors are poised to make amends, for their 17-8 loss to Bintangor Goroka Lahanis last Sunday, when they host SNS Port Moresby Vipers in  Kundiawa in the bemobile Cup competition which enters round 14 on Sunday.
In other matches, Masta Mak City Rangers lock horns with Wantok Gaming Systems Kuris, Agmark Guria clash with SBSL Muruks in Kokopo, Toyota Mioks take on Bintangor Lahanis in Enga while ACTL Bombers are on bye.
The Warriors board and team management are content with the overall performance of the side, especially after holding a class side like the Lahanis before they escaped with a win last Sunday.
Poor ball handling errors was Warriors worse enemy which saw them giving away too many possessions to their opponents who capitalised on them.
Warriors coach Hans Kaybin has been spending time with his side to polish up in this area before their  game against Vipers.
Although, the Warriors lack the weight upfront, they have a potent strike weapon in their backline to capitalize on and attack the Vipers’ try line.
Centres Andrew Sipil, Sonny Dai, wingers Tiger Emere, Bal Bako and fullback Gordon Fred, are expected to see more balls from  halves Willie Guambo and Mack Siwi.
Warriors forward have a rejuvenated pack that has been boosted by the inclusion of tireless worker Sam Tobokina, Nathan Hoyato, Jerry Kutz, skipper James Emm, Job Roltinger, McQuin Kunjil, Toksie Owi and Joe Kupsy.
If their two wins against the Rangers this season and a 16-16 draw against the Vipers in their earlier outing was any indication of the Warriors’ potential, the visitors will have to work extra hard to counter the home side in the Warriors’ home turf – Dickson Field.
However, the Vipers are also aiming to make amends after their nail-biting 11-10 loss to SBSC Mendi Muruks last Sunday.
They will be determined to get back into finals contention at the expense of the Warriors.
Coach Paul Komboi boasts that the Vipers are finals material and he is optimistic that the Vipers will prevail over their opponents following their outstanding performances recently.
Komboi said despite losing rugged forward Zachery Simba (chest) and the omission of fullback Colin Aruna, youngster Stanley Korowa and tryscoring freak Josiah Abavu have been included to bolster the Vipers’ attack.
Komboi said he would be relying on all his 17 players to play their part if they were eager to cause an upset.
The side: Abavu, Elijah Riyong, Eki Ene (captain), Leo Kuso Jr, Felix Tangue, Jessie Joe Parker, Peter Paulus, David Kaiabe, Toua Kohu, Tala Kami, Timothy Komane, Bobby Mori and Sebastian Pandia while the reserves are Sebulon Ragi Jr, Jonathan Wagano, Korowa and Elison Patimos.
