ONE of the largest trucking companies based in Lae Morobe, the Mapai Transport, continues to strengthen its relationship with the people of Chimbu by supporting the Kongo Coffee Simbu Warriors with K10,000.
Warriors board chairman Jerry Kapka last week thanked Mapai Transport, especially managing director Jacob Luke for continuously supporting the franchise club participating in the Digicel Cup challenge this season.
“They have been supporting us for a number of years, not only during my time in office but the years before I came on board,” Kapka said.
He said when the Warriors came back on the scene last year, Luke committed K10,000.
“He has done the same this year and we have a lot of respect for Luke. We appreciate the support he has extended to us.
In his e-mail to The National, Kapka said: “It is a contribution we are making towards the young people and we are happy to do our bit.”
“As chairman and major sponsor of Warriors, I would like to thank Luke and Mapai Transport on behalf of the players, management and the people of Chimbu for his continued support.”
