Water company backs Saints’ in Southern campaign

ALIYAH Saints rugby league club in Port Moresby has received a sponsorship boost from water company Eda Ranu last Friday to participate in the Coca-Cola Ipatas Cup Southern leg challenge.
Eda Ranu which has been supporting underprivileged youths in the city through sports for many years decided to help the club from Dogura area in Six Mile.
Eda Ranu general manager commercial services Paul Gore presented a set of uniforms worth K9,000 and K3,000 cash on behalf of chief executive Henry Mokono and the management.
Team manager Peter Mondo, captain Tony Mokono and vice-captain Nicholas Raga received the sponsorship package and thanked Eda Ranu for supporting youths in Six Mile and the city.
Eda Ranu also paid the K1000 registration fee for the team to participate in the Ipatas Cup which kicked off on Saturday at the Murray Barracks oval. Gore said the Ipatas Cup has been a very good concept that has promoted rugby league in the country by bringing underprivileged youths together.
He said the cup had unearthed raw talents who had gone on to represent their provinces (Digicel Cup) and country (Kumuls/PMs XIII).
