Water cut forces town to close toilet

 THE prolonged closure of the public toilet in Madang town due to no water has seen waste disposal out of control there.

The public toilet opposite Best Buys was closed for over a month because water was cut and people shopping or engaged in other activities faced difficulties when they needed a toilet. 

A man was caught by authorities collecting money on Monday for providing a small hideout in town for toilet purposes.

It is understood the Madang Urban Local Level Government budget has been approved to cater for water and electricity bills.

Meanwhile, residents have demanded to know why street lights along the Modilon Road have not functioned for a few years.
