THIRTY-three villagers from Wau became the fifth group to benefit from a partnership programme aimed at improving their basic business management skills as local entrepreneurs.
Under the Morobe Mining Joint Venture (MMJV) community and regional development programme the 24 men and nine women in the group completed a two-week training session funded by the miner’s Hidden Valley Gold mine and facilitated by the Small Business Development Corporation (SBDC).
As part of the Start Your Business (SYB) programme, participants from Kuembu, Kaisenik, and Wandumi villages were put through a series of theory sessions covering assessing business opportunities and developing business planning.
Similar training was conducted for Mumeng, Biangai coffee farmers and Tsilitsili village.
