NAHUA Waves splashed over Kevaru Thunders 22-4 in the Gaire rugby league competition on Saturday.

In front of a capacity village crowd, Waves halfback Haoda Tau, Tau Matthew and hooker Naime Renagi were the kingpins of the side’s big win.

It was tough for Thunders as the opposition controlled their key players in Ovasa Ura, Eddy Tilik, and Feda Mea.

This is the second lost for Thunders and they need to win in the five team competition before the semi-finals.

They face Bore Panthers in the first game on Saturday and in the main fixture, Kiriu Rocks meet Bali Bears while Nahua Waves are on bye.

The formation of the GSDA is significant as it will occupy, involve and drive village youths in sports. The rugby league A, B, C grades and netball Under 17, 21, A grade, A Reserve, B grade and Masters play their third round respectively.
