THE Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium in Lae will host a double header in the Kumul Petroleum National Soccer League (NSL) Northern Conference, with Snax Lahi United up against Tusbab Stallions in the first game.
The main game of the afternoon will be between Morobe Wawens and Morobe United.
In Madang, Laiwaden will host visitors Besta Papua New Guinea United.
The game will see former Besta PNG United coach Bob Morris go up against his successor Harrison Kamake.
The round had been scheduled to be a triple header but due to Toti City departing on Tuesday for the Oceania Football Confederation Champions League in New Zealand, their game against Markham was deferred.
Lahi have regrouped after last weekend’s loss to Morobe United and will be out to prove that they are serious contender in the competition.
The Stallions displayed some structured football against Toti City, keeping the defending champions at bay for 30 minutes before losing 6-0. The Madang team will need to lift their performance against Lahi.
The Wawens, coming off a win against Laiwaden, have a huge task ahead of them as they face the might of Morobe United.
With Jason Farrock receiving a red card for a dangerous challenge on Laiwaden goalkeeper Mikes Gewa last weekend, Wawens officials have been tasked to reshuffle in their attacking players to match Morobe United.
For Morobe, their strike players Alex Kamen, Russel Nirik, Joshua Oscar, Henry Ronny and Eliude Fugre should be watched closely by the Wawens.
Meanwhile, NSL operations manager Leslie Babaga told The National that they were trying to establish a committee to look into the Farrock incident.
He said the NSL was treating the matter seriously after receiving the match report.
“Player safety is paramount,” Babaga said.
“We need more information to determine the penalty against the player, with his club fined K1,000 before the player takes the field.”
