We can do it, says Minoga

WITH six games remaining in the regular season, the man they call “Mack Truck” Willie Minoga believes that making the top six is well within their reach and so is defending the Q-Cup title.
Minoga etched his name into PNG rugby league history when he scored the try that practically won the Hunters their maiden premiership against the Sunshine Coast Falcons last season.
Speaking as one of the experience campaigners in Michael Marum’s side, Minoga repeated the team’s mantra of “taking it one game at a time”.
The Hunters are in 10th place on 18 points (8 wins, 9 losses) while the fourth-placed Norths Devils, their opponents on Sunday in Lae, are two wins away on 22 points.
Four teams (Jets 18, Falcons 18, Tigers 18 and Magpies 20) separate the Hunters from the magical sixth spot with just a mere two points between Marum’s men and sixth-placed Souths Logan.
Minoga, who has a knack for turning the impossible into the possible, believes there is a way to the top.
“The boys are looking forward to the last six rounds. We have to believe that we can make it to the top,” Minoga said.
“As a player I have to believe that we can make it. We have to believe that we can make it and our fans too, everybody must believe that it’s possible — we can make the top six.
To make the finals, Minoga said it would be down to the attitude and discipline of the players.
“After last week’s win, the team spirit has lifted, so I think if we keep going like that, we can do it.
“We are heading into round 19 so everybody knows what to do.
“We just have to go out there and get the job done.”
