We need people with vision
The National – Thursday, March 17, 2011
I REFER to the muchtalked about LNG project.
Papua New Guineans expect to see their lives being transformed by the LNG project.
The government is excited by the revenue it is expected to generate.
In my opinion, it is not only money that will develop the country.
It is the people with vision who will develop the country.
If you do not have vision, foresight and creativity, money alone is of no help.
For example, if you give someone with vision K100,000, he will let it grow into millions.
On the other hand, if you give K1 million to someone without vision, he will not only produce nothing but may waste it on useless projects.
That is the difference.
If the LNG project is in the hands of people who do not have any vision and foresight, how far can we go?
What have Ok Tedi, Lihir, Tolukuma and Porgera done so far?
Absolutely nothing.
Do you really expect me to believe the LNG project will make a difference?
