We need tougher laws to create order

Letters

PAPUA New Guinea’s population is growing rapidly compared to other Pacific nations.
Social problems have spread to many provinces.
Public servants are living in harsh conditions, especially teachers and nurses in remote areas.
People are openly carrying guns, knives and other weapons around.
Killing is taking place every day.
People no longer fear and respect the law.
We need tougher laws.
We say we are a Christian nation, but our actions do not reflect Christian values.
Our traditional values of respect and peace are not practised anymore.
