Wei pays fee for students from Karimui-Nomane

KARIMUI-Nomane MP Mogerema Wei has disbursed over K56,000 in tertiary students’ school fee assistance to 25 students from his district attending the University of Goroka last week.
Salt-Nomane-Karamui student representative Teine Wemin thanked Wei for his timely assistance given at the time of student registration and orientation at UOG.
He applauded the kind gesture by Wei who is also the vice-minister for Agriculture and Livestock.
“We are glad that our MP has been assisting tertiary students for the last four years and is continuing the programme; we thank him for bringing relief to our struggling parents,” Wemin said.
Student divided the money accordingly and deposited their fees into the university account and presented the deposit slips to the accounts section.
Wemin said Wei was investing in to develop human resources to build human capital for the people of Salt, Nomane and Karimui district.
“The support is not only for the district but also for Chimbu and PNG,” he said.
The help will benefit 20 students attending UOG and five students studying via distance and flexible learning.
According to Temai, Salt, Nomane and Karamui district students attending other universities and colleges were also getting support from the MP’s office.
Wei had, since he become member, subsidised fees for tertiary student from the district.
