THE arrest of two senior Customs officers as reported in The National on Tuesday is welcome news for PNG.
A lot of crooked deals have been happening for years and nothing has been done but thank God that finally it’s revealing.
No wonder, Government through IRC/Customs misses out in millions in tax revenue over the years by these so-called senior officers only to be called crooks.
Can police also arrest and investigate Customs chief commissioner Paul Ray over the alleged illegal operation of a warehouse at the Kennedy Estate at 8-
Mile containing cigarettes of unknown origin, including manufacturing equipment which was uncovered?
If his two most senior officers are involved, the commissioner would be the first person to be made aware of such deal and should be dealing with them himself.
If the commissioner is unaware of his senior officer’s action, the commissioner needs to be arrested and question as well.
Some of the customs license given to foreigners to operate businesses and bringing into the country the containers with goods may have been compromise as well in the process.
Those in the seniority position are using their position to derail the organisation through such crooked deals and they deserved to be at Bomana.
Government is losing millions of kina through one or two people’s crook deals.
By sending these kinds of people to Bomana will make “PNG the richest black Christian nation’ and “Take back PNG” as the way to go.
