MOROBE Governor Luther Wenge has recently said retired national court judge Mark Sevua should be appointed or re-appointed to serve another term.

Speaking in Lae yesterday, Wenge, a former acting judge himself, said Sevua was one of

the finest judges the country had, was still mentally and physically capable and had performed his constitutional and legal duties with distinction.

“He (Sevua) is not a wantok (relative) or a friend of mine but he has executed finesse in his work and in developing the law.

“It is on that basis I strongly recommend that he be appointed judge of the Supreme Court,” Wenge said.

The governor said appointment or re-appointment would be in the best interest of the country and taking the matter to court was only making matters more difficult than they were.
