Wenge denies allegations made by Morobe administrator
The National, Thursday 12th April 2012
MOROBE Governor Luther Wenge has denied allegations levelled against him by Morobe provincial administrator, Kemasang Tomala.
Wenge said the allegations “are serious and I will sue him”.
He said he was not a part of the matter regarding the contentious K1.3 million for Tami Island, Jabem district Wokman Trust, Gario Coffee growers and Morobe provincial sports office.
Two members of Wenge’s staff and the provincial cabinet secretary were arrested and charged over the matter which went to court.
The case was thrown out two weeks ago.
Wenge said he was not linked to any purported conspiracy.
He said the matter went before a competent court and was thrown out.
He denied having a part in land deals that saw provincial government land sold to various individuals and businesses.
He said the provincial executive council decided and passed resolutions and he could not anything on his own.
“Those are serious allegations and I deny that.
“Those are PEC decisions,” Wenge said.
He said Tomala was probably retaliating following his suspension as provincial administrator and referral to the Public Services Commission.
