Wenge leads Morobe regional

MOROBE Governor Luther Wenge was 2,500 votes ahead of his nearest rival in the race for the regional seat after count 15 yesterday afternoon.
Wenge polled 4,945 with Kelly Naru on 2,390 votes and Robin Yalambing trailing behind with 550.
The regional tallies are expected to change rapidly after today as figures from counting in the other districts of Markham, Huon-Gulf and Tewai-Siassi are posted.
Finschhafen, Bulolo and Lae are expected to begin counting today and this should have some dramatic impact on the placing.
