Wenge let his people down

The National, Thursday 10th November 2011

I CONVEY my condolences to those who lost their lives in their recent uprising in Lae.
The problems did not start last Thursday when a petition was presented to the Tutumang.
Neither did it start when youths harassed and robbed the innocent citizens of Lae.
This is a deep-rooted problem that started more almost 10 years ago when politicians became lazy and did not perform their duties as expected.
Opportunists took advantage of this situation to rob, loot and rape.
When the cries of the people fell on deaf ears for a long time, what do you expect them to do?
The two-term Morobe governor, Luther Wenge, likes to call himself a songang.
Today, he is as good as a dead songang.
The people will always remember him for the misfortunes he brought into their lives.
