Wenge praises Ombudsman

Lae News, Normal

MOROBE Governor Luther Wenge is appreciative of the Ombudsman Commission for listening to the local level government presidents of Morobe province.
Mr Wenge said yesterday the Ombudsman Commission had filed a reference to the Supreme Court to consider the Organic Law review that removed LLG president from the  provincial assembly.
The reference was based upon the petition of the Morobe LLG presidents which the Ombudsman Commission received in August last year. The petition was filed for reference with the Supreme Court under section 19 of the Constitution that covers special references to the Supreme Court.
The Ombudsman Commission’s argument was heard by the Supreme Court three days ago.
