FORMER Morobe governor Luther Wenge will challenge the decision of the Court of Disputed Returns in the Supreme Court.
The People First Party leader said this after Justice Nicholas Kirriwom dismissed his elections petition against Morobe Governor Kelly Naru.
In his decision, Kirriwom said Wenge’s witnesses fabricated stories and told deliberate lies to the court.
Wenge said he respected the National Court’s decision but it was a different thing as to whether he agreed with its decision.
“We have not made up the allegations,” Wenge said.
“The war doesn’t stop here. It will continue. We will take the matter up with the higher court.”
Wenge said he had instructed his lawyer to study the court’s decision and see if there were sufficient grounds to appeal the decision.
Meanwhile, Wenge alleged that reports of financial mismanagement in the provincial administration had emerged and claimed there was evidence to prove that.
It would be taken to the Ombudsman Commission and respective state authorities to look
into.
Police were earlier called in to disperse a rowdy crowd who were cheering Naru’s win outside the courthouse.
