Were security guards justly rewarded?

Letters, Normal

WHILE reading your newspaper’s coverage of the tsunami scare last Friday, I was shocked to see a picture of security guards manning a bank despite the impending disaster.
I wondered how they could have escaped the waves when every one has fled for safety.
In such challenging times when employment is scarce, such jobs can not be taken for granted despite a tsunami warning.
My point is – were they rewarded by their employers for taking the risk?
