ONE of Papua New Guinea’s remote areas is to have its own
technical trades training centre.
The Mora Mora Vocational Centre in Kimbe has been expanded and renamed the West New Britain Technical College.
The chairman of the new college board, Williamson Hosea, said they expected up to 300 students from around the country to enrol from next year.
He said initially, they would be teaching
only a handful of subjects.
“The trades that will be taken on board will be the mechanical trades, the building trade and welding.
As time goes on we will definitely take on the other trades, like plumbing.”
