West Yangoru needs a secondary school

Letters

YANGORU-SAUSSIA MP and National Planning and Monitoring Minister Richard Maru is yet to deliver on his election promise to build a secondary school for the people of West Yangoru.
Children in this part of the electorate are still struggling to attend high school every day.
They have to walk 22 kilometres a day – Monday to Friday – to attend Yangoru Secondary, which is a day school.
Honourable member, how would you feel if your child walked 22 kilometres to and from school, five days a week?
My daughter, a 14-year-old, has to walk every day from Wingei to do grade 9 this year. As a parent I am quite frustrated when I see my child walking this distance every day. Honourable member, keep your election promise and build a high school for the children of West Yangoru.
