Western heading for wilderness

Letters, Normal

IT is with deep regret that I have to say Western province is heading along a disastrous path as there is no direction from the governor down.
And this is the same governor that was once tipped to become the prime minister of PNG had the move to oust Sir Michael Somare was successful.
The province has grown from bad to worse and soon the wilderness will reclaim it, thanks to poor leadership and nil vision.
The province is crippled by chronic corruption, poor work ethics, mismanagement of public funds and abuse of public utilities while our leaders continue to turn a blind eye.
Public servants are left in control of public purse.
What a shame.
Where are the leaders of Western?
Where is the provincial administrator?
Why are you living in Port Moresby and going home only during campaigning and elections?
The people are not interested in your fancy papers but want to see results.
The social indicators of health, education and law and community justice are appalling.
Village people continue to travel up and down the Fly River in dugout canoes to sell their garden produce to make ends meet while lazy public servants drink under mango trees waiting for the next pay day.
Where is Western heading?
Is there any future of the people of this province?
What do we want to achieve in the next hundred years?
