THE Remdi Milimba Cooperative Society in Western Highlands is willing to supply chicken, pigs, fingerlings and yam seedlings to farmers in the province.

This was made known at Mitimb, Muglamp in Dei, when a National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) team from Tambul visited the society’s fish ponds and other farming projects last Saturday.

The team comprised research development coordinator David Minimba, senior scientist/agronomist Kud Stago and livestock scientist Stanley Amean Daniel.

They were to see how the members of the society were progressing with their fish ponds, yam and poultry farms and piggery.

Members of the society made it clear to the NARI team that they wanted to help Western Highlanders lift their living standards.

Society chairman Yomas Dosung said the group was formed to give a share of wealth to men, women and children.

Dosung said the cooperative society was an initiative of the Remdi Milimba clan to develop the lives of people through farming activities.

“You have to follow the cooperative laws and that is where you will prosper. Stop your other business which are not helpful and focus on what you’re doing,” Minimba said.
