THE Western Highlands government is taking on board Christian education in schools to help students know God and plan their future well.
The provincial government appointed Pastor Abraham Willie as the new provincial religious instruction coordinator.
He is a well-known Gospel artist in Western Highlands.
Willie, through his Country Gospel Singsing Ministry, preaches the Gospel through music.
Willie, who started his music ministry in 2002, will oversee the religious instruction programme in 32 high schools and secondary schools in the province.
Willie said it was part of preaching the gospel to students to know who God was.
He said knowledge without God was useless and students needed God in their education.
“My vision is to reach out to all high and secondary schools to make sure Religious Instruction becomes a special subject,” Willie said.
He said young people needed to be taught the basic truths of life and educated in the way they should live.
“My office is focused on leading our children to believe those philosophies and the founding truths that God created the universe and gave it to man,” Willie said.
He said Governor Paias Wingti had built many high schools in the province and was now focusing on the new subject.
