Western Highlands Tvet centre grateful for programmes

The Rabiamul Technical Vocational Education Training (Tvet) centre in Western Highlands is grateful for the funding from the European Union Tvet programmes.
EU-funded programmes at centre has includes teacher training, on-the-job training (OJT) and financial management for quality, access and management of Tvet schools.
The EU sponsored 10 technical and vocational schools in six provinces under its human resources development programme phase two on infrastructure developments, tools and equipment supply, teacher training and OTJ training. Rebiamul Technical was among the lucky recipient.
OJT coordinator Rose Paraka said the assistance was a great help to the technical centre.
Paraka said the students’ academic results has been very encouraging.
She said the on-the-job training funded by the EU has enabled the technical centre to establish relationship with the industries.
“Like every other schools we have shortfalls and challenges but I believe with such assistance, we can be able to overcome this challenges and help secure a pathway for youths and young people,” she said.
The EU-funded Tvet programmes provide relevant practical skills, knowledge and understanding relating to skills needed in various sectors of formal and informal economic and social life.
