“We received a good number of nominations and the quality was extremely high.
“The finalists represent some truly inspirational and outstanding Papua New Guinean business women,” Westpac head of retail financial services, and one of the award’s judges, Jeanette Leeson, said.
“Through the awards we aim to lift the profile of women in business and
to assist in establishing networks that help women reach their goals,” Ms Leeson said.
Final judging will take place on Oct 19 and winners will be announced at the presentation dinner in Port Moresby on Oct 21.
For the third consecutive year, the Westpac women in business awards will recognise outstanding women in five separate categories from the public, private, Government and not-for-profit sectors.
There is also a special award recognising outstanding achievement by a young woman under the age of 30.
“We are proud to play a part in facilitating this and contributing to the well-being of the community that we’ve served for almost 100 years and for more to come,” Westpac Bank PNG Limited managing
director, Ross Hammond, said.
