WESTPAC proved too strong for Kina Bank edging them 21-17 in the Private Companies Netball premier division on Sunday.
The PCNC resumed after the Christmas/New Year break, with the premier division playing their final round one matches on Sunday, with round two commencing next weekend.
Westpac showed why they are championship contenders with a determined performance, rallying to claim the four point victory over Kina.
With Westpac one a one-point advantage in the half time break 10-9, Kina knew that victory was theirs for the taking and kept them on their toes.
Westpac’s centre Violet Banian pulled the strings in mid court allowing her team take control of the game. The energetic wing attack for Westpac Loi Lahui contributed to her team’s victory with her passing and movement, along with Banian who effectively fed the ball to their shooters Mella Oa and Elina Ripason.
Kina kept Westpac honest with centre Daulegi Maneya doing her best to keep her team in the game. However, the Westpac defenders were able to keep a lid on the Kina shooters chances, shutting them out.
