Wet New Year for Moresby

PORT Moresby will be anticipating some sunny intervals and few afternoon showers from now till the New Year.
According to the national weather service forecast issued for the year-end indicated a minimum of 24 degrees Centigrade and a maximum varying from 30 to 33 degrees Centigrade on different days.
Aside from the forecast of a few showers tomorrow, the rest of the week is expected to be fine with “sunny intervals”. 
New Year’s Day is expected to commence on a wet note with afternoon showers on Saturday and Sunday with a minimum of 23 degrees and maximum of 30 degrees, assistant director Jimmy Gomoga said last week.
It was very hectic last Friday as shops were filled to capacity with people doing their last-minute shopping.
Vehicles also lined up for miles in certain locations. At traffic lights motorists had to wait much longer than normal as the traffic was very thick.
