Wewak boxers appeal for help

THE Wewak amateur Boxing Association is appealing to potential sponsors and other organisations for financial assistance to take its boxers to the PNG Games in Kokopo in November.
President of WABA Nick Aisir said 27 boxers had been selected for the Queen’s Birthday tournament in Wewak this month but they need K20,000 to get to Kokopo.
The squad consists of 11 senior male boxers, 11 novice male boxers, five novice female boxers and three officials.
Aisir said the boxers would be part of Team Sepik and appealed to the provincial government, business houses and individuals for help.
